Web Design Portfolio :: Sure Fire Web Design
One of my best projects to date. The site has special typography that makes
it possible to have beautiful cursive fonts on the web pages that are visible
to everyone on the web regardless of what browser they use. But at the same
time, the site is indexed just the same in the search engines. Since Google
and Yahoo can't "read" images, just replacing words with text is normally
a big no-no when it comes to "search engine optimization" but I got
around it using some tricks I've picked up over the years.
The backend admin section is first class and gives Andres, the owner of Sutera
Medical Spa, plenty of power and flexibility without requiring him to know
anything about creating a website, html, or (heaven forbid) CSS.
But enough about what I think... you should hear him rave about my work:
| |
“From my first contact with
him I could detect that he had more to offer than just website design.
Jack is almost a marketing genius first and a designer second."
"Throughout the process, Jack knew exactly what I was looking for.
He provided a significant amount of input, all while carefully listening
to what my goals were. When you tell people that you are going to launch
a website everybody in this country will tell you that they know a great
web designer for really cheap. Be careful! Jack is an amazing web designer
who is very reasonably priced. He is not “really cheap,”
but he is by no means expensive, especially when you consider that you
are hiring a quasi marketing guru in the process. If I had my
choice between a construction company that also knew about landscaping
and interior design, or simply a construction company, I’d choose
the former."
"If you have any questions about Jack and his work, please feel
free to contact me at 305-799-6184, or by email at dremoran@hotmail.com.
Also, check out my website at www.SuteraSkin.com."
(There's much more he said. Want to read
the entire glowing testimonial?)

When the in house technology wizard was assigned to remake the Jones College
website, they put the project out to bid. Jim and I hit it off right away when
I started explaining how easy it would be to manage the website and that anyone
with enough skill to send an email could add content to the Jones College website.
The decision makers at Jones College had one goal: complete simplicity. Easy
to understand, easy to read, easy to navigate. Period.
What's more is that their website runs on extremely lean XHTML code which means
the pages just pop onto your screen in an instant. No waiting. Plus, there's
great separation between style and content, which will make updating the design
of the website a snap.
I'm proud to have been chosen to be the only website designer to remake the
website of Jones College.
Payformance
I cannot take credit for their beautiful website. Even though it could be improved
upon their website is much better than most websites I've seen lately.
What I can take credit for is helping the Vice President of Marketing for the
company to create an email template that will be used in most of the email campaigns
they will run in 2005. Not only did I create a template that gives them the
flexibility to modify themes very easily, but I also improved their sales message
and gave them specific strategies that will help them track their results.
Return on investment is the single most important concept in any marketing
campaign. If you aren't measuring it or you're not happy with your current ROI
then you should give me a shout.
Episcopal High School
Diane Tabbot looks to me as her personal computer savior when she needs help
on the website (or anything computer related) at the prestigious Jacksonville
private school.
The website was created by another company but she's thrown away their
phone number and only calls me when she needs help with the website.
I recently added a very simple ( simple by request) online catalog for school
apparel sold through their bookstore.

“…I’ve tossed Jack more
hot potatoes than I can remember, and never once has he failed to handle
them with speed, professionalism, knowledge, and good humor. He’s
ironed out problems I’ve had with web elements ranging from JavaScript
to cookies to graphics to search functions with ease, and taught me a
great deal in the process. Jack is conscientious, thorough, always available,
and a pleasure to work with; I depend greatly on his knowledge, expertise
and dedication, and I recommend him highly.”

Ryan was on his way to building a site that would grow very, very rapidly and
eventually have thousands of pages. Most of this content would be contributed
by a handful of experts that write tutorials on photoshop techniques. The only
way that Ryan would be able to manage this project would be to have a well written
database program that would handle all the administrative functions and also
make it very easy for visitors to the site to search for whatever they needed.
I think Ryan's biggest surprise was the administrative control panel that I
created for him. He was thrilled to see how easy it is to manage his rapidly
growing website. I also gave him some code that will make it possible to change
the entire look of the site by modifying just two files... even if the site
grows to several thousand pages.

Jack Born is incredible in every aspect
regarding his work. First of all, I am thoroughly amazed at the communication
that he was able to commit to; not only did he respond to well over 60
email messages I sent him in the course of just a few of weeks, Jack also
spent much of his time with me on the ICQ network (instant chat messenger)
working out problems and updating things at my request. In addition, his
promptness for solving an issue was only surpassed by the quality of the
work I received. He threw in ideas and things he could have just easily
ignored. In other words, he put forth all the professional effort that
sets him apart from the rest, and I already have recommended his work
to others because I know he can handle anything thrown at him.

Sincerely,
Ryan Fait

Have you ever seen a Civil War reenactment and wondered where all those great
costumes came from? I got a chance to find out when I was hired by Daniel Manufacturing
to create a website to sell his handmade creations online.
A tremendous amount of detail went into creating the online store. First, there's
the beautiful typography you see on each page that really makes the website
stand out from the pack. Then there's the incredible array of colors, sizes,
and materials that can be chosen when making a purchase. Putting so many options
into a store with so many products is not easy.
To deliver more than was asked of me, I even set up the PayPal account for
Daniel and got it working with his store so that he can now take orders 24x7.
I was contacted by Frank Walle of German based company, friends4.net, to jazz
up an all important contact form on a website he was hired to create. He was
already using my Ultimate FormMail software to process the data, but he needed
extensive javascript code written to perform complicated calculations. To make
matters more difficult, all of my calculations had to be formatted to display
financial results in European notation: with commas and periods exactly opposite
of how we use them in the United States. $1,000.00 would need to be 1.000,00
Every line of code was custom written from the ground up. Since the form had
to handle a wide variety of options, some of the calculations were especially
intricate. Frank was up against a tight deadline but he knew I could deliver
on time. Using a combination of javascript, php, and cascading style sheets,
Frank's client now has a fully functional, dynamic form that does more than
he ever expected.

Well my site has become a "Surefire"
winner. The site was up 2 weeks, we did no (print) advertising at all.
Last Tuesday the phone started ringing. We got 8 calls in one day, all
referencing the site. Two of the calls resulted in the sale of 8 containers
for $8500.
I may need to buy more inventory.

Jack, I just wanted to take a moment and let
you know how pleased with the website you have created for us. We have had

already for us.
In fact, we received one today from a prospect with 80 offices throughout
the southeast! Great job!
We'll be glad to recommend your services
to anyone!

"You have built a magnificent web page that I continue
to get calls from other VP’s and CEO’s complementing the professionalism
and “eye catching” quality. More impressive is your willingness
to assist us with all our technological needs without concern for compensation…a
very rare trait in corporate America. Your prompt follow-up, kindness and
knowledge are a breath of fresh air and have been vital to our continuing
success in the music industry.
As a retired Navy Captain with 28 years of service and former Executive
Assistant to one of President Clinton’s Cabinet members, I can say
without reservation, this is the finest IT program I’ve witnessed.
You can count on further referrals from MNA Entertainment and can only
hope we get as fine of service with other business needs."
